The AutoDESA website has been designed for all parties interested in the standardisation of data exchange in the Australian Automotive and related Industries.
The purpose of the website is to provide a documentation resource to guide members in the development of interfaces, to provide an information communication centre for members, to provide a forum for the interchange of ideas and to communicate published standards to the community. There are three levels of access within this site:
- Public User
- Register User (non-financial members)
- Members Only (financial members)
Public User
Public users have access to general information about AutoDESA, contact details of key members and date/location of general committee meetings. Public users may submit a question to the committee or secretary. Public users also may register on the site their name and contact details to gain access to further information.
Registered User (Non-financial)
Members registered on the website are placed on the general (e-mail) mailing list and are automatically notified details about the next AutoDESA General Meeting and of new postings on the site of unrestricted information or documents. Members may 'unsubscribe' at any time and automatically cause their contact details to be deleted.
Information available to non-financial members includes lists of existing STAR standards for interfaces, which may be amended to suit Australian requirements. Non-financial members are welcome to attend General Meetings and can download published standards, but access to 'how to' information on the web site and participation in work-in-progress is restricted to financial members only.
AutoDESA is an open forum. Those who wish to learn more about AutoDESA are encouraged to attend the general meetings of members, usually held quarterly and alternate between Sydney & Melbourne.
Members Only (Financial Members)
Viewing of the Members Only area of the site and full access to AutoDESA activities is restricted to financial members who have paid the annual membership fee to contribute to AutoDESA administrative costs (including web site costs, secretarial services, etc). This area includes work in progress by Interface Development Teams, discussion forums, guidelines, templates and sample documentation for interface development projects and minutes of meetings.
AutoDESA has a well structured technical process, set of procedures and documents to assist in the development of interfaces. This brings benefits to all participants through reduced development and support costs and shortened development times.
For information about fees, please contact the Secretary.
